Guided tour in wooden canoes

It's a special feeling, traveling in a wooden canoe. A special connection, between nature and our core human being. It's a mix of meditation and adventure in a wilderness to explore. There's good food and time to chill out around the fire. On a Day trip with us, you'll explore Tiveden with a certified, local guide who'll share their knowledge of the local nature and keep you safe on the water.

Program:

Our trips alway starts with a thorough introduction to canoeing, learning both the basics and some secrets on how to bring your paddling to the next level. Out on the water we'll check out a beavers lodge and the story of how the very first canoes were built. We will also have Swedish "fika" in the canoes - with locally roasted coffee.

Then we'll explore the lake. We seek out hidden places and sites along the shore, keep our eyes and ears open for the wild animals and birds around us. Maybe we'll meet with the beaver... Or hear the cranes calling... Or we'll simply have a quiet and really good time on the water. Later on, we'll make lunch together by the fire. Back on shore, we hope that you'll leave us inspired and eager for more adventures.

5 hours, we meet up at 10 am and are back by the cars by 3 pm.

Where do we start and how do I get there?

We're paddling on the beautiful woodland lake called Bergvattnet in Tiveden. Tiveden is located in the middle between Stockholm and Gothenburg. You get there directly by car or by public transport to Laxå, though from there you still need to go by car or bike. We launch from the wind shelter by Bergvattnet but we meet up by the approach to the wind shelter, see the GPS coordinates below.

Traceless' alcohol- and drug policy

All tours with Traceless in Tiveden are free from alcohol and other drugs. Partly for the physical safety of the group, we're on the water, or in difficult terrain or handling sharp tools and fire. But also in consideration and care for our guests. I want these tours to be safe spaces in nature. The guide has the right to send away drunk or high guests at any time during the tour. There will be no refunds in these cases.

What do we do if it's raining?

We always put the safety of our participants first. We're on a lake where there never are any high waves. But if there's thunder or extremely hard wind, we find alternative activities - like hiking in the woods, making a wild campfire or similar. Often the rain pass away pretty fast. If it's raining, put on your rain clothes and bring a warm sweater for the lunch break. We'll put up a tarp next to the fire as a cosy shelter. And last but not least - please remember, the Swedish woods are seldom so sparkling and colorful as when touched by summer rain.
